LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) - UVa alum and 2017 national champion Thai-Son Kwiatkowski finally got what he'd been seeking in three years of competiting at the Central Virginia Invitational Tennis Tournament.

The championship title.

Kwiatkowski rallied in a back-and-forth first set against finalist Stefan Kozlov for the 6-4 win, then pulled away in the second, 6-2, to claim 1st place in the 59th annual tournament. Afterwards, Kwiatkowski says he felt the love from Virginia supporters all throughout the tournament, saying "I live in Charlottesville, and hour and a half away. To have the home support here, a lot of Wahoos in the crowd..It feel really good to win, and I hope I can keep coming back."

In the other finals action at Oakwood, Adriana Reami repeats as women's champ.

Stefan Kozlov and his semifinal opponent, Evan Song win mens doubles, while Daneika Borthwick and Wake Forest's Emma Davis win the women's doubles.
