Heart of Virginia Corporate Cup Coming This Fall
A business challenge presented by Vista Graphics promoting health, social, and charitable benefits in the spirit of friendly competition.

Lynchburg, Va. – Does your company have what it takes to bring home the Cup? The Central Virginia Sports Commission (CVSC) is creating the Heart of Virginia Corporate Cup presented by Vista Graphics. The event will take place October 10-12, 2019, location TBA, and will engage the regional business community in competitive, social, participatory and charitable competitions in a networking environment.

Regional businesses have the opportunity to compete with and against their colleagues in Axe Throwing, Whiffle Ball HR Derby, Executive Relay, Cornhole, Dodgeball, and much more! Showcase your company pride and help the CVSC promote health and wellness. The event will provide great networking opportunities as well as boosting employee morale, and in a unique way get your co-workers out of the office for an enjoyable team-building experience!

“This region has such a strong tight knit business community made up of employees who love to network among their colleagues”, says Billy Russo, Executive Director of the Central Virginia Sports Commission. “We want to capture this connection by providing the platform and resources for companies big and small to participate in a friendly competition with their co-workers for bragging rights while promoting the importance of living a healthy and active lifestyle.”

There is a competition and activity for everyone regardless of skill or athleticism. Included are 15 scored events and each team earns points by simply completing participation-based events (such as the 1 mile run/walk, t-shirt, charity challenge, etc.) or by winning competition-based events (such as tug of war, Soccer Darts, etc.). The event is open to all central Virginia companies located in Lynchburg City, Campbell County, Bedford County, Amherst County, and Appomattox County. A breakdown of company levels, participation prices, how to sign up and other information can be found at https://www.centralvasports.com/event/heart-of-virginia-corporate-cup-2/.
In addition to having a great time with co-workers, colleagues, and friends, participants will also receive entry into five competitive activities, entry into all participatory activities, access to the awards party, t-shirt, a wristband for food and drink specials throughout the weekend, company logo and website on several promotional opportunities prior and during the event, and the opportunity to take home the inaugural Heart of Virginia Corporate Cup.

A huge part of the competition is the charity challenge which will be a platform for sharing in and challenging colleagues to give back through charity. “We are especially excited about the charity challenge aspect of this event”, says Russo. “Challenging regional companies to not only give it their all in competition and participation but also to give back to community charities that mean so much to the region and people who live here is equally if not more important to the health and social benefits of this event.” Charitable beneficiaries include the Lynchburg Daily Bread and the Special Olympics of Virginia with others to be announced. Details of the charity challenge will also be announced at a later date.
